White Cheddar Substitute - How To Discuss

White Cheddar Substitute

Can you replace the Monterey Jack thing with an electronic cheddar? 3

I have a prescription for cheddar cheese, but I only have a rig. Lightweight Cheddar or Jack Monterey. What is better to change?

update

Edited to add: This is a salad recipe to prevent it from melting ... if it makes a difference.

The only difference between a cheddar and a yellow cheddar is the color yellow.

softer cheddar = soft yellow cheddar, less yellow food color

And sharp = sharp yellow minus yellow

So you can use light cheddar cheese regularly and not change the taste of the dish.

I would choose light cheddar cheese regularly, the only difference is yellow. Monterey Jack is another cheese texture that does not behave like a cheddar in recipes, nor does it melt, nor does it have a cheddar-like texture. Color is less important than type in this case.

Use regular cheddar cheese to get the taste of your choice, but keep in mind that regular cheddar cheese also adds a lighter color to your dish. Monterey Jack won't color the dish, but it doesn't taste the same. So now you have to decide which taste or appearance is the most important.

Assad, Chihuahua or Oaxaca are Mexican cheeses that are perfect for melting. They are pieces of cheese like mozzarella. I think Monterey Jack is basically the same, but it's old. I would substitute mozzarella cheese or similar Chinese cheese.

Yes you can, Monterey Jack is great cheese.
