What Month Is Prom

In what month is the graduation ceremony usually held? 3

I'm writing a book in the US, but since I live in New Zealand, we don't have things like mine or prom.

I wanted to know if anyone could tell me what month the prom would be or when the school year would end. I know it started in September, but I don't know when it will end.

I would be very grateful if anyone could answer. :)

The American school year usually runs from September to May. Traditionally, we blame agriculture for this, although the actual agricultural school year is often quite different. The current three-month summer vacation is mainly supported by tourism.
