Onboarding is a business process organizations use from the time an applicant accepts a job offer until the new hire is productive at work. Onboarding software includes administrative activities (benefit registration), provisioning activities (office space allocation, user identification and employer ownership), and orientation (co-workers connection and training). Some organizations include employee performance management as part of onboarding.

This term can refer to the introduction of a new customer to your services or products, or is used to describe the onboarding of a new employee to your organization.
