Is tetro (tete reault) a common nickname for red hair in French? 3

Tetro is the passionate nickname of one of my ancestors. Newspaper articles described him as a red-haired boy. At first I thought his name in Tetralat was my Louis Dupuis, but now I think it's just a nickname. However, the affidavit states that her name was Louisa Tetro when she was married, although she stated that she was Louisa Dupius (Wales).

The more I learn, the more stupid I sometimes become!

It's not a common nickname ... but maybe it's in Old French.

The reault, or ro, is very similar to red, the French color is used to describe red hair.

In Quebec it is used for a person whose last name is Tetravolt, not necessarily someone with red hair.
