Nearby

As the name suggests, "Nearby" allows you to connect and share data with other devices nearby. According to Google, Near uses a combination of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and inaudible sound to identify other nearby devices. Proximity, on the other hand, is not a standalone feature of Android, but rather a set of technologies that developers can integrate into their apps. Google Play, for example, uses Nearby Games to find other people nearby to play with, a useful feature when you want to play with a family member or roommate without having to go to the network or the waiter.
