I have a Kwikset double cylindrical head screw and I don't know how to remove it. Have I ever seen such a fort before? ۔

I need to replace the Kwikset double cylinder and I don't see how to remove it. It's a lock that looks solid. I removed two small threads (3/4 inch thin) from the inside, but they are safe and do not connect to the outside of the lock. I can open the lid, but it doesn't come out or peel. I tried to check the small files that they were in and nothing came up. I don't have the n key to test, but is there anything in these two files that connects the two parts? I have a lock and it works fine so I don't want to break it. I don't think the cover will come out because with this type of cover it doesn't have the usual benefits. Any help is greatly appreciated. Miguel

The inner cover is on the outside

Find small cutouts on the edges.

Mike, the inner cover is falling off. Inside is a board that sits inside. There are also two S on this board that connect the two sides. The latch should be in the unlocked position, which will straighten the clearance / nozzle and allow the ■■■■ shaft to slide. This is because of the high level of security. You cannot cancel or separate the two. You must first access the inner panel. Both lids were rotated so that no one could open them with a pair of channels. It will keep spinning. Place the two items he removed on the cylinder plate. If I remember correctly, this set of patches is 885x3. This means double button with a polished finish. If there was an x5, it would be an old Br. If it were 665x3, it would be your standard brass finish. nny, you learn these things after a while, right?

The advice from others here is good, but the language can be misleading. When they refer to a blown inner cap, I mean a used (as opposed to unused) lock section cap. So I spent some time without success finding a way to use the brass exterior for indoor use. A call to the Kwickset Information Line put me on the right track. The removable cover is intended for indoor use but refers to a small circular disc with two Phillips heads removed, not a large brass exterior that fits into the door. If you look closely at the outer edge of this small disk, you will see some very narrow indentations. Use a thin (or pointed) screwdriver to remove this thin panel and you will see a large inner part that can be removed with a regular screwdriver.

I had to do all this because it was difficult to lock and unlock. Graphite T on the internal sliding mechanism solves this problem and eliminates the need to purchase an alternative padlock. You can't get graphite on this part of the lock without separating it like this.

The other answers I saw here were working for the Kwikset model they implemented, but my Kwikset double cylinder head screw was different and only 10 years old. The round cover cannot be removed. By removing the two s from inside the door, the round plate (where s are) can cover the cylinder if it has not been removed. If you haven't already covered it, remove it. Both leaders have grooves on the outer edges of the screwdriver. Another inner cylinder comes out of the two guides. You start from there.

Tried to remove the Kwikset patch by removing the long 2 and then lifting the front panel etc. However, there was a piece of metal that connected the two. How can I delete it?

I know this question is a few years old, but I have just deleted one and I may be able to clarify the answer.

1. Remove the two visible on the lock.

2. Remove (remove) the small round front panel that both hold.

3. Use a screwdriver (small insert) to remove the two screws holding the key and the key will come out.

I just installed the Kwikset double pan head screw. The locks (inside and outside) worked perfectly and the locks were opened and closed. The only confusing (and bad) thing is that you can also use your thumb to push the latch into the open position. I also noticed that a slight tilt of the door caused the bolt to move to an unlocked area. this is bad? Did I install incorrectly or just broke?

Thanks in advance

I think I tried it a few years ago. If I remember correctly, you need Alan to remove it. It's safe to look at Alan's head if you have a small flashlight. They are not very large, so a small set of Alan Keys is enough.
