I am working on a cover letter and starting again for an internship position. Do you use social sciences?

Depending on the context. If you say I teach social studies, no. When you say I took Social Stus 101 in college, use capital letters. Social Stus is not an appropriate name, so capitalize it only when it is in the file, which will make it an appropriate name.
