How To Soften Plumbers Putty
w Can I soften a plumber's bowl of flour? 3
My husband said he forgot to buy clay pipes from the hardware store, and after searching he found something, but it wasn't good. He decided to put it in our microwave or toaster and I said no because I didn't believe it would give off a strong chemical smell that could make everyone sick. Is there any other way to soften this dough or just wait and buy a new container?
updateI don't think it's that difficult. It's moist and flexible, yet heavy. He went to get more, but I saved the dough, he said he couldn't use it to see what he could do with it.
I think linseed oil works as a fabric softener.
If you heat the dough, it will dry out and harden, which I think will fail. It is ideal to buy a new spatula.

If you are in a hurry to do this you need pasta, you just need to take a break and spend some BS and buy a new bottle, otherwise flax seed oil will help. The dough will soften if you put a little on the hardened dough, cover the container and let it sit for a few days. Then, as you pull it out, work your hand as if you were using it with modeling clay.

You need to wet your hands with warm water and knead until smooth and usable. I also use WD40 spray oil, but it's hard. If you have a few minutes of patience, there is no reason to buy.
I used boiled flaxseed oil, it worked fine. I needed one after six months and it was still soft.
Wait until you get a new box, you only want to work once.
