Ford Explorer Brake Lights Wont Turn Off
My backlight doesn't turn off? 3
For some strange reason, my 2002 Ford Explorer taillights don't go out. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I think it could be a button that should have been on and is still on, but I'm not sure.
Thank you very much!
updateWow yes, it's really, really easy.
sw may be out of support. Check your pedals ... as far as the bottom of the bar dash goes up. SW behaves like a G-click pen. When you step on the pedal, it removes the switch rod ... a piston appears ... which triggers the light.
Most of the time, they just need to be reset and saved ... if that doesn't help, replace the switch ... cheap and easy to replace.
I now!
My Centra 2001 taillights didn't go out and it happened for no reason. In my case, the first thing I did was look at my dashboard and see what a piece of plastic I had never seen before. This part is the socket that activates the switch. There are two pedals for me. I can see that the switch is pointing to the outlet that it should be on. * 5 Later at a local auto parts store and ten minutes later I managed to install a new outlet to switch on and the taillights went out. No more empty batteries. Difficult solution.

Check your light switch. It should be in front of the lever where the pedal is installed. Most cars file them for assembly. Pulling a little so as not to pull the lever before stepping on the pedal will usually solve the problem. Otherwise, there may be an internal problem or it may get stuck and need to be replaced.

Is it a taillight or a headlight? There is a small switch that sends a light signal when the pedal is pressed. Sometimes the SW stick and the light are on. The switch must be somewhere on the crank.
I had all 3 issues with the light on the right side not shining, the backlight is still on and the backlight is on.
Your glue pedal will shine on the light pedal and you will have to remove the plastic from the bottom to see and access it and your battery will run out until I fix it.
If it's taillights, I think it's headlights, but if it's taillights, I think SW is stuck.
You will need to take it to a mechanic to check the SW. This is the only way to get an answer.
