PUR Water Filter Expiration Date? 3

Replacement cartridge for PUR water filter not opened? (By the way, it's not refilling the faucet).

I have kept an alternative PUR cartridge (not opened, in the original packaging) in my closet for 3 years. Can I use it or do you think it's old? (The box is completely broken, so if there is an expiration date, it should be removed.)

Don't worry, you can still use it. Replace the filter cartridge for clean water using a charcoal (activated carbon) filter. Carbon filters can also be used for long-term storage as long as they are in good condition (no dent). Unused carbon filters never run out. Used activated carbon filters can last from 6 months to 1 year. However, it all depends on the source of the water used and the frequent or non-existent cleaning.
