Clam broth is added to tomato juice. With clam broth, take some clams and boil them in a little water. During cooking, oil is extracted from the husks and mixed with water. Think of it like seafood tea. After all, it is added to tomato juice, so yes, these are real claims. This version has been running since 1800. There was a restaurant in New Jersey called Clem Broth that only served seafood soup. Believe me, it's not that bad.
