Don't buy a mixed breed dog forever. No glue can mix two different races. Both breeds suffer from severe genetic problems (for example, the Cavs may have severe heart murmurs) and this assumption has never been detected in my experience.
The reason you see so many of them in the Midwest is because they are puppy mills, there are so many puppy mills in the state.

If you want a mixed breed dog then why not go to an animal shelter.
