Definition of Asbestosis:
Lung disease caused by breathing asbestos fiber over a period. These extremely fine fibers scar the lungs and make breathing progressively ■■■■■■. Though its symptoms are similar to that of asthma, asbestosis can be fatal. See also mesothelioma.
A lung disease resulting from the inhalation of asbestos particles, marked by severe fibrosis and a high risk of mesothelioma (cancer of the pleura).
