Definition of Anodic protection:
Corrosion reduction is achieved by producing metal structural anodes (positive electrodes) with low voltage direct current to achieve and maintain electrochemical inactivity in a particular environment. Developed in the 1950s, anodic protection is more suitable than cathodic protection for certain metals, such as stainless steel, especially in highly corrosive environments, such as handling and storing centrifugal sulfuric acid. However, this procedure requires careful monitoring and control. Otherwise, the corrosion process can be accelerated.
